Possum wool
Possum wool is used for making possum wool socks, and possum wool products. The first garments were hand spun in the 1950's by West Coasters looking for an additional way to kep warm and a way to start a niche possum business. It tool some practice but eventually possum wool was created and is now a very sort after material for making warn possum wool products such as socks, gloves, jerseys, jumpers, beanies and scarves.
Possum wool will always be popular with Eurpean people due to the extreme winters in Europe and the way possum wool is so light yet so warm.
Possum wool is also popular with travellers due to the lightweight nature of the wool and its warmth.
Generally possum fur is blended with merino wool to produce waht Peter and Carol call Furino. Furino is quality possum fur blened with quality merino wool and commonly known as Furino or possum wool.
